    1. Sorry Steven, you actually missed the deadline, but the [at] should be changed to @ for e-mail, I post it like this so that e-mail harvesters don't get my e-mail and start sending me spam…maybe you'll win the next giveaway!

  1. Michael,

Thanks so much for letting me in on the giveaway. I had a great time.

When I arrived Kid Koala had gone on (in a koala costume!) but it was mad crowded upstairs. He broke his mixer I think (something broke), so he proceeded to orchestrate a pillow fight(!) between a girl and a guy with a prize to the winner. The audience picked the girl!

The Echo and Echoplex are notoriously loud venues, however, and they cranked it up from Loud to Painful during Koala's set. It was time for Amon Tobin anyway, so I went downstairs.

Amon (who I hadn't seen in a decade) played a fantastic set, throwing in some awesome D'n'B and Dubstep tracks. Good sized crowd for him which was warming to see.

I didn't stick around much after Amon went off because Daddy Kev & DJ Food were going upstairs. I got up there and they were well into killing it! Loads of energy, great track selection, more D'n'B and Dubstep goodness. It was a shame it had to end at 2 AM like it did.

I really enjoyed the gig – thanks again to the Melting Pot Blog and to Michael for the giveaway!

If you don't have any takers for DJ Shadow at HoB Sunset I'd be willing to write another review … lol
